Terrified of what's outside,
Terrified of what's in.
can't stop shaking with fear
can't shut my ears
can't run and hide
can't stop the screaming inside.
Made my way back to five
still shouting "stop the fight".
I can't stand the sight,
mommy throwing knives,
daddy wishing for a new life.
me, just wishing things would be alright.
Me stuck in the middle,
with all hope out in flight.
mayb if i weren't here
there'd be more cheer,
go to the closet
put on a belt.
dangle and hang there
til the pain and fear dissappear.
Smiles and laughter,
no more tears, no more fears.
Tape and glue my broken house back together
So we'll be happy forever after.

Evocative! Very powerful and stills the spirit to read. I gotta say, you wrote something with essence.
I think, this could very well be my new favorite poem. It just has, odd remembering's attached that touch deep threads and pull them cruelly.
